Hello all, I'm new to the forums and to tea in general, but people here seem knowledgeable and experienced, so I figured I may as well join up and learn about tea.

So far, I have read about a lot of teas that help you lose weight, go to sleep, and whatnot. However, I am more interested in a tea that would help me wake up (yes, I'm an insomniac and as such am constantly tired, how annoying).

I've tried Irish and English breakfast teas that my friend's father suggested, but they don't really wake me up. Since you guys seem to know a lot about tea, what do you think is the best for waking up? Do you think tea with a lot of caffeine or tea with a strong, invigorating flavor/aroma would be best?

    Thanks for all who help.
And if this is in the wrong section, sorry.

The best type of tea for waking up is black tea. It is the polar opposite of green tea which in this case means that it trades in its health benefits for high caffeine. One of the stronger black teas in both flavor and caffeine is Earl Gray. With its potent mixture of intence oils and caffeine this English tea is a great choice for waking or working. P.S. this tea is strong and for days when getting up is not of paramount importance there are other black teas which wake you up a little less abruptly. Also I find loose leaf tea to be of better guality and taste with the added benefit of being able to be bought by weight.
